- Donate small to the candidates you like
Tomorrow is the end of the first-quarter fundraising filing deadline.
It’s disgustingly early, still, but the process is what it is. So, my suggestion is donate the minimum to the candidates you like, Democrat or Republican regardless of what you think their chances are.
Even $5 will involve you in a very real way with the campaign [...]

- LA: Breaux readies himself for candidacy, shows Web site
John Breaux has a rockin’ video - and not much else - at his newly launched Web site JohnBreaux07.com to run for Louisiana governor. The 1:47 You Tube video acts as a short biography, and focuses a great deal on his local ties. It then dryly relates his history as a politician, “Served Louisiana interests [...]

- OP-ED: Anna Nicole Smith, Pat Tillman - whose autopsy is more important?
Sorry to both families for framing the question that way, but black-and-white contrasts rarely are aligned in this way.

- PSR: Porsche as Salon’s free pass ad
Does anyone else think it slightly or beyond slightly odd that the free pass these days for access to the Salon Web site is for Porsche’s Cayenne car, which retails for right around $90,000.
Let me just throw this out there, if you can afford the Cayenne pony up the $35 for premium Salon ya cheap [...]

- PSR: Blogger’s Assc. Robert Cox makes a lot of sense
Media Bloggers Association, Robert Cox, was on the Research Channel (Channel 9400, DISH Network) on a program called Changing Media. I’m watching it now, and the guy makes a lot more sense than the impression I had of the Media Bloggers Association. I thought the group was a lot more anti-media than it is (and [...]

- Politico relates too late?
Politico.com, a new shift in the typeset, offset, no-set continuum is being widely roasted for putting out the "news" that Edwards was dropping out of the race due to his wife's illness.
A few of the reporters now there moved from the Washington Post, which means Howard Kurtz, always with a caul of smarm in the best of circumstances, is enjoying their mistake way too much, with the headline Polit

- Edwards wife has cancer recurrence, he stays in race
Saying the campaign is only getting stronger, Edwards’ hastily called press conference today was professionally less than supporters feared and personally more fearful than supporters would have desired.
Rumors that he would quit or suspend his campaign were proved false.

The article I put together regarding Fife Symington seeing a UFO was highlighted briefly on the front page of Google News. From there or some other way, StumbleUpon found it and we’ve had close to 700 hits as a result.
For a group blog site that was until recently on life support, it’s a welcome shot [...]

GOP Candidates Confront Immigration Politics
New York Times -
Beyond whatever influence it has as the state whose caucuses kick off the presidential nominating contest, Iowa has become something of a laboratory for the politics of immigration. Not only is it a place where industries like meatpacking rely heavily on immigrant workers and where a once relatively [...]

- AZ: Former Gov. Symington says he saw UFO in 1997
Fife Symington has a storied, checkered past. He may have check-mated much of what happened with him before with the revelation that he saw a UFO.
Hundreds, or thousands, of people in central Arizona remember what is now referred to as the “Phoenix Lights.” On March 13, 1997 these lights moved fast and slow and stalled [...]

By U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl
